ATHLETICS ONTARIO APPOINTS HARASSMENT OFFICERS

The AO Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Doreen Thompson and Bruce Simpson as AO Harassment Officers.

Doreen Thompson has a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (BSc), a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctorate in Education (ED.d), with a Major in Organizational Leadership and a Minor in Conflict Resolution. She currently works as an Instructional Coach at secondary schools across the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) in addition to being the Z Club Chair of the Zonta International District 4 Board. As a former athlete, Doreen enjoyed competing in the high jump, long jump, 200m, and relays. Today, she continues her involvement in the sport as an AO Technical Official.

Bruce Simpson has been practicing law for the past 38 years, predominantly in the area of insolvency. Bruce is a former pole vaulter and Canadian record holder. He placed 5th at the 1972 Olympic Games and won gold medals at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and the 1979 Pan Am Games. Bruce also picked up a bronze medal the 1971 Pan Am Games and a silver medal at the World Student Games.
