Reminder: Clubs & Coaches participating at the 2017 AO Indoor Relay Championships
All clubs should ensure that they have declared the athletes that are running in each relay team that has been entered. Clubs will need to enter all potential relay runners on Trackie or email randolphfajardo@athleticsontario.ca by Thursday January 12 at 11:59 pm. All athletes competing in each of your Relays must be registered with AO for 2017.
An updated schedule and the most recent performance list has been posted on the AO Relay Championship event page at: http://athleticsontario.ca/events/2017-ao-indoor-relay-championships-and-prep-1/
Waivers: Please ensure that all of your participating athletes (or parents/guardians) bring with them their signed Waiver form found at: http://athleticsontario.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Waiver-2017-Indoor-Relay-Champs.pdf. If your club utilizes the Power of Attorney form and process, your athletes will have their bibs automatically released for them upon arrival. If there are competing athletes in your club who have not completed the Power of Attorney form, then please notify Athletics Ontario of those Athlete names, prior to the start of the meet, and we will require their completed forms before releasing their bibs.
Coaches: In order to gain access to the Competition area, you must:
- Have a valid Athletics Ontario Coach membership for the 2017 season. To register with Athletics Ontario, please visit: http://athleticsontario.ca/registration/
- You must have a “Coach Pass†to present at the admission area. Coaches only need to register once for the season and their pass may be reused at all of our indoor championships. Relays Rules: Â Â Â AO-affiliated clubs (or clubs affiliated with other AC or USATF branches) only may enter the Relay Championships. Composite or school/university teams are ineligible.
Clubs must enter teams in the appropriate age category (i.e., may not move up). Example – a team made up of 4 Midgets must enter the Midget category and may not move up to the Junior category. An athlete may compete in a different age group in different relay events only. For example, an athlete may compete in the Midget boys 4x200m and the Junior men’s 4x400m but the same athlete may not compete in the Midget boys 4x200m and the Junior men’s 4x200m.
Relay Declaration forms will be available at the registration area or check-in table. Completed declaration forms, with names of the runners in running order, must be turned in within the check-in window for the respective events. Only athletes whose names were included on the list of potential relay runners entered by 11:59 pm on Thursday, January 12 are eligible.
Relay Uniform Policy: In Provincial Championship events the four athletes on the team must wear identical club tops. However, small design differences and slight differences in placement of letters, etc. may be permitted at the discretion of the check-in marshals and on-track officials. All four team members must check-in and show their singlets and bibs to the check-in official.
