Yesterday, London, ON native Alysha Newman broke her own Canadian record when she cleared 4.75 metres in the women’s pole vault. Her previous record was 4.71m.
At the world track and field championships, she finished seventh place with a jump of 4.65m.
She celebrated her new accomplishment with a backflip after she looked up to see that the bar stayed up.
