AO Indoor Series Meet #2 Recap

This week, Athletics Ontario and the Flying Angels Track Club co-hosted the Indoor Youth/Senior Championship, which featured the Midget Dual Meet. The event took place at the Toronto Track and Field Centre and saw more than 600 of our top athletes from across the province.

There were so many impressive performances throughout the weekend. A few highlights include Izzy Goudros, whose time of 8.77 seconds in the Midget Girls 60mH tied the provincial record. Josh Linington, of Brantford T.F.C., set and then broke his own new provincial record in the Midget Boys weight throw, with throws of 20.01m and 20.23m. And, your Midget girls 4x200m relay team broke the provincial record, with a time of 1:42.95, Izzy Goudros, Jillian Catton, Trinity Miller and Nicole McKenzie are now the composite record holders! Several other athletes set new personal bests, and we are extremely proud of everyone who competed this weekend.

In the Midget Dual Meet, Team Ontario and Team Quebec were neck in neck all day, the score was always very close. Team Ontario put on some incredible performances in the 4x200m relays, with boys the Boys and Girls finishing first and second in the event. At the end of the day, the teams BOTH finished with a score of 272 points, resulting in a tie for first place. Congratulations to both teams!
